CELPIP is the Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program is a general English language proficiency test. The CELPIP exam allows test takers to demonstrate their ability to function in English. Using this method, teachers will accurately, and precisely assess your English abilities. What is the difference between the Celpip General and Celpip General LS?

 

General

This test takes approximately 3 hours to complete and can be done in just one sitting. Through a variety of different activities, it evaluates the test taker’s English speaking, reading, listening, and writing skills and is used for permanent residence applications and professional designations.

General LS

General LS takes approximately 1 hour to complete and can also be done in one sitting with no separate speaking session(s). This examination evaluates the test taker’s English speaking and listening skills and is especially used for citizenship applications and professional designation.

Test Scores

Each CELPIP – General Test component and the CELPIP – General LS Test are given a CELPIP level. Below is a chart of each CELPIP level and its corresponding description.
